Question #02

What is Photoplethysmography (PPG) used for?

PPG technology has been used as a vital signs monitor in a wide range of commercially available medical devices for measuring oxygen saturation, blood pressure and cardiac output, assessing autonomic function and also detecting peripheral vascular disease.

Question #04

Is my privacy secure?

PPG does not require the capture of your face, fingerprint or other identifiable information.  All data used for processing is protected by HIPAA and international security requirements.  Generally speaking, it is a very secure vital signs monitor.

Question #01

O que é a fotopletismografia (PPG)?

Fotopletismografia (PPG) is a simple and low-cost optical technique that can be used to detect blood volume changes in the microvascular bed of tissue. It is often used non-invasively to make measurements at the skin surface. The PPG waveform comprises a pulsatile (‘AC’) physiological waveform attributed to cardiac synchronous changes in the blood volume with each heart beat, and is superimposed on a slowly varying (‘DC’) baseline with various lower frequency components attributed to respiration, sympathetic nervous system activity and thermoregulation.  Essentially, Fotopletismografia makes for a very good vital signs monitor.

Question  #03

Is Photoplethysmography (PPG) accurate?

Measurements to the highest degree of accuracy against regulated medical devices.  This has been validated in numerous scientific studies, why is makes a great vital signs monitor.

Similar, but not exactly the same. rPPG generally uses data collected from your face, whereas PPG collects the data from your finger.
We feel that PPG provides more security, and is less invasive, as it does not require a scan of your face. Some people have difficulty getting their face framed correctly for rPPG.
Not exactly, you need to still use your smartphone, get your face framed correctly, and hold the phone still while the scanning processes.
Generally, it is a very low-cost option for a vital signs monitor. We provide pay-per-use and pay-per-month options with our SDK.
Photoplethysmography is used in many medical devices - so accuracy is similar to those sorts of devices.
Photoplethysmograph uses the high resolution rear camera of your smartphone, or web camera, to scan your blood vessels in your finger. AI algorithms then analyze the data to product the vital sign information.
